What is Yoga?
Yoga is an ancient practice that has been around for thousands of years. It is a practice of purifying the body and the mind so that we may function to our highest level of abilities in perfect harmony. The practice of the postures combined with breathing and meditation leaves the practitioner feeling rejuvenated and relaxed and with a sense of overall wellbeing. It has been proven to reduce stress and improve mental outlook.

The Journey!
In 2000 Larissa was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She couldn’t walk, run or stand without support. A friend told her that she should try yoga. She was not sure if she would be able to practice yoga. She attended a gentle yoga class where she met Denise, her first yoga instructor. Denise had been practicing yoga for a few years and had just completed her certification at the Integral Yoga Institute in New York City. She was teaching her “first official yoga class” on the day we met. Larissa hobbled into Denise's class with her cane, sat on her mat, and there our friendship and journey began. This was the birth of You Can Do It Yoga For MS™ and the future You Can Do It Yoga Center!

Larissa attended Denise’s gentle yoga class twice a week. She began to see and feel the difference that a regular yoga practice was making in her battle with MS. Denise noticed the changes as well; improved muscle strength, increased balance, concentration, improved breathing and hope. Eventually Larissa got rid of her cane, could stand up on her own, and came to the realization that she had connected to a power that could transform her life.
Together we are living our dream of spreading the message of hope and peace that a regular yoga practice can bring to all people! WE ARE SO GRATEFUL!!!
